10 Killed in Separate Road Accidents in India

NEW DELHI: At least 10 people died and 58 others suffered injuries in two separate road accidents in India on Saturday, local police said. 

In the southern state of Tamil Nadu, six persons, including five men and one woman, lost their lives, and 58 others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between two buses during the early hours of the day.

The incident occurred in the Chettiyappanur area of Tirupattur district, specifically on the Chennai-Bengaluru highway, where a state government bus and a private bus collided. The impact resulted in severe damage to the front portions of both vehicles. The injured were promptly admitted to hospitals in Tirupattur and Vellore districts.

In a separate incident in the northern state of Haryana, a tragic road crash claimed the lives of four family members. A local police officer reported that an oil tanker collided with a car traveling in the opposite direction on the Delhi-Jaipur highway in Gurugram district, located approximately 45 miles away from Delhi.

The collision resulted in a devastating fire, leading to the unfortunate demise of the four occupants of the car.
