ISLAMABAD: A devastating road accident in Kalakahar Chakwal claimed the lives of at least 12 passengers and left 24 others injured when a bus collided with a pillar on the elevated road after the brakes failed on Saturday afternoon. The victims included three women and two children, as reported by the Deputy Commissioner of Chakwal.
The ill-fated bus was en route from Rawalpindi to Lahore when the accident occurred in the Saltrange area of Kalarkahar. The brakes of the bus reportedly failed, causing it to crash into a pillar on the elevated road.
Injured Transferred to Hospital in Chakwal
According to the Rescue 1122 service, ten individuals lost their lives on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries during transportation to the hospital. The remaining injured passengers were promptly transferred to the relevant medical facility for immediate medical attention.
