$14 million Allocated to Secure Mark Zuckerberg

MENLO PARK, CALIFORNIA: Meta Platforms Inc said on Wednesday it has increased the security allowance given to CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his family by $4 million to $14 million.

According to Meta the increased allowance, along with the costs of Zuckerberg’s current overall security program, are proper and essential under the circumstances.

The latest move comes at a time when the owner of Facebook and Instagram has cut thousands of jobs and reduced expenditure plans for a period that he has called the “Year of Efficiency.”

The owner of social media platforms, who ranks as the richest person, earned a compensation of around $27 million in 2021. And Meta is yet to reveal his pay package for 2022.

The Financial Times said last week that Meta had deferred finalizing the budgets of many teams as it was preparing for a new round of job cuts.
