ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Korea in Islamabad has hosted the 2024 K-Pop Festival at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts, showcasing the vibrant talents of Pakistani youth in music and dance. This initiative, organized by the Embassy of South Korea, offered a platform for local talents to shine, with the promise of performing at the prestigious 2024 Changwon KWF Festival.

Secretary of the National Heritage and Culture Department, Hassan Nasir Jamy graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, acknowledging the cultural significance of the event. In his remarks, he praised the efforts of the of South Korea’s Embassy in fostering cultural exchanges, which he believes strengthen the friendly relations between Pakistan and Korea.

The Ambassador of South Korea, Park Kijun underscored the festival’s role in celebrating music and culture, emphasizing K-pop’s ability to unite people across borders. He highlighted the growing enthusiasm for K-pop among Pakistani youth, describing their passion and dedication as truly inspiring.

Moreover, Ambassador Park announced the upcoming 2024 Korea-Pakistan Cultural Gala, scheduled for October at the Liaquat Gymnasium, as a major cultural event aimed at further enhancing bilateral ties.

The festival also saw the recognition of outstanding talents, with winners receiving exciting prizes generously provided by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. The grand prize, a Samsung Galaxy A15, was awarded to the top performer, while the second and third prize winners received a Galaxy Smart Watch and Samsung Galaxy Wireless Earbuds 2, respectively.

The 2024 K-Pop Festival highlighted Pakistan’s growing talent in K-pop but also reinforced the cultural exchanges that continue to strengthen the bond between Pakistan and South Korea. The event concluded on a high note, with attendees and participants alike expressing optimism for future cultural collaborations between the two countries.
