BEIRUT: The 20th Saudi relief plane operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has arrived at Lebanon’s Rafic Hariri International Airport, carrying food, shelter, and medical supplies, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The assistance is in line with Saudi Arabia’s historic role in supporting the brotherly Lebanese people in times of crisis. The Saudi support to Lebanon comes at a time when Israel has intensified attacks on the country in its war against the Hezbollah group.
The initiative has been taken on the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah in a press statement said that this initiative reflects the Kingdom’s noble humanitarian spirit and its commitment to aiding those in need.
Israel and Hezbollah have been engaged in cross-border attacks since the war between Israel and Hamas started in Gaza on October 7.
It is pertinent to mention that Israel’s war in Gaza now in its 398th day has killed at least 43,391 people and injured more than 102,347, with another 10,000 feared buried under debris. Meanwhile, In Lebanon, Israel has killed 3,050 people since October last year.

Addressing the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan warned of serious consequences from Israel’s ongoing military escalation in Lebanon and called for an immediate ceasefire.
He stressed preserving Lebanon’s stability and sovereignty per international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
“The absence of accountability and punishment despite Israel’s ongoing violations of international law and humanitarian law encourages further escalation,” he added.
The global community has already warned that Israeli attacks in Lebanon could convert into a wider regional war.
