RAMALLAH: The Palestinian Health Ministry has said that around 288 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank since the start of the current war on October 7. The Health Ministry announced in a statement that “Hamza Ibrahim Muhammad Bashkar, was killed by Israeli army gunfire near the town of Huwara last night.
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa said Israeli warplanes bombed two homes in northern Gaza, killing as many as 14 people and injured many more in the area. Wafa reported that in another assault, the Israeli military attacked a house in the Jabalia Refugee Camp, killing dozens of innocent Palestinian people, including women and children. It added that dozens of people were wounded and many others were trapped under the debris of collapsed buildings.
288 Palestinians Killed in Occupied West Bank
The number of Palestinians killed in the current Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip has reached more than 18,800, local authorities said. According to a statement by the Palestinian Government Media Office in Gaza more than 51,000 Palestinians have been wounded by the Israeli military in the besieged Gaza in 70 days of the deadly war between Hamas and Israel.
It added that more than 8,000 children and 6,200 women were killed in the current conflict in the Gaza Strip. It may be recalled that the Israeli military has caused “an unprecedented humanitarian disaster” and immense destruction in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier, Arab media reported that 4,420 Palestinians have been arrested in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since October 7. In a statement, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said that Israeli troops have arrested more than 16 Palestinians during last 24 hours. It added that the arrests took place in Hebron, Nablus, Qalqilya, Tubas, and in occupied East Jerusalem. The prisoner’s society said the total number of Palestinians arrested since October 7 in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem now stands around 4,420.
