3 More Journalists killed in Gaza in Israeli Attacks: Report

GAZA: The head of a prominent media outlet in the Gaza Strip and two other journalists were killed during the weekend in Israel’s attacks in the region, local media reported on Sunday.

Local media citied relatives of the slain journalists as saying that more three journalists were killed in the Gaza Strip. On Sunday, Belal Jadallah, a reporter and head of the board of the Press House-Palestine, an NGO, was killed and his brother-in-law was wounded, his sister told Reuters. Jadallah was killed in the Zeitoun part of Gaza City, said his sister. She said that her brother was killed by an Israeli tank shell.

Two freelance journalists Sary Mansour and Hassouna Sleem were also killed on Saturday in an Israeli strike on Bureij refugee camp, in Gaza, Palestinian health officials and their relatives said.

Committee to Protect Journalists said the weekend deaths increased to 48 the number of journalists and media workers, it had confirmed killed in the area since the Oct. 7. The CPJ that 43 Palestinians, one Lebanese and 4 Israeli journalists were killed in the region.

CPJ’s Middle East and North Africa program coordinator Sherif Mansour said that media workers and journalists are rendering great sacrifices to cover this heart-breaking crisis. Sherif Mansour said that those in the Gaza Strip, in particular, have paid, and continue to pay price, an unprecedented toll and also face exponential threats.
