MIRPUR: The 39th martyrdom anniversary of Muhammad Maqbool Butt shaheed, a veteran leader of Kashmir Freedom Movement, will be observed on February 11 with the renewal of the pledge to carry forward his mission till the achievement of the legitimate right to self-determination.
“Pro-freedom and Anti-India demonstrations and rallies in all major towns and cities at both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) will be the hallmark of the Day. The Day will be observed to pay rich tributes to shaheed Maqbool Butt who was sent to gallows by India on this day in 1984 in Tihar Jail of New Delhi for demanding the right to self-determination.
Anniversary to mark complete strike
A complete strike followed by seminars, rallies, conferences and processions will be the hallmark of the Day in Indian Illegally-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. — APP
