ISLAMABAD: The 40th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was commemorated with a vibrant celebration at a local hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan. The event, attended by a distinguished guest list, including Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Head of the All Pakistan Ulema Council Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, foreign diplomats, and other dignitaries.
Hosted by the TRNC Islamabad Representative, H.E. Dilsad Senol, and Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan Dr. Mehmet Pacaci, the reception gathered envoys from various countries, government officials, parliamentarians, members of the business community, and media representatives. The event served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of the TRNC over four decades.
In her address, Representative Dilsad Senol expressed the significance of the national day for the TRNC, particularly following the Republic’s admission to the International Forum Organization of Turkic States. The celebration underscored the diplomatic, cultural, and historical ties between Pakistan and the TRNC.
The attendees were treated to a cultural extravaganza that showcased the rich heritage of the TRNC, emphasizing the shared values and bonds with Pakistan.
Over the years, Cypriot people have maintained peace and tranquility on the island by safeguarding their bodies, beliefs and national identity. This steadfast support from their motherland took care and honour for the people. Today, The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has achieved substantial progress in areas including democracy, economy, socio-legal equality and human rights. The nation stands at the forefront of the Eastern Mediterranean in higher education and tourism to keep all sectors driving our economy.
It is already an observant member of the Organization of Islamic Countries, as well as the Economic Cooperation Organization in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
