4500 Afghanistan Students to Get Pakistani Scholarships in 2023

ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has decided to provide 4500 scholarships to the students from Afghanistan in 2023.

Around 6000 Afghan students are already getting education from the top Pakistani universities in different fields as medical, engineering and social sciences. Special Assistant to Prime Minister and Special Representative for Afghanistan Affairs, Ambassador (R) Muhammad Sadiq said this in a meeting of Afghanistan Inter-ministerial Coordination Cell (AICC) here on Saturday. A high-level delegation headed by Afghanistan Health Minister, Dr. Ibad met with Pakistani officials and also discussed the relationship between the two countries. Pakistan’s assistance for Afghan citizens in the field of education and health also came under discussion.

He said that Pakistan was providing Rs 1b financial assistance to Afghanistan in the sector of health and for the up-gradation of three major hospitals in the war-torn country. Pakistani government would provide the salaries to the staff of these three hospitals while the up-gradation of these hospitals would be part of the financial package. the medical hospitals include Jinnah Hospital, Kabul; Naib Amin Hospital, Logar; and Nishter Hospital, Jalalabad.

Dr Ibad, the Afghan health minister thanked the Pakistani government’s efforts and support in this regard. He said Pakistan have a vital role for peace and development in the neighbouring country. He said Afghanistan is best place for Pakistani investors and added all unnecessary hurdles would be removed soon for a smooth relationship between the two countries in the fields of education and health.
