PORT MORESBY, PAPUA NEW GUINEA: A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struct Kandrian, Papua New Guinea on Saturday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The USGS stated that the earthquake took place at UTC 05:30 and struct Kandrian, Papua New Guinea at a depth of 38.2 kilometer. The epicenter of the earthquake was 149.793°E and 6.111°S respectively.

According to media reports no casualties have been reported so far. It may be recalled that Papua New Guinea is a nation in Oceania.
