SRINAGAR: In a departure from the prevailing narrative, the Modi administration has introduced an innovative addition to the arsenal of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) based in New Delhi.

This new addition takes the form of a ‘Wheeled Armoured Amphibious Platform’ (WHAP) vehicle, strategically aimed at maintaining stability in the region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, contrary to the normalcy discourse being promoted.

According to an official source, the WHAP vehicle stands out as an 8×8 marvel, jointly developed by the eminent Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Tata Motors. This robust vehicle boasts a seating capacity for twelve individuals and is colloquially referred to as the TATA Kestrel. Its distinctive feature lies in its versatility, equipped to traverse both land and water terrain seamlessly, a trait that sets it apart from conventional vehicles. One notable aspect is its advanced communication system, elevating its operational prowess significantly.

The WHAP vehicle’s aquatic capabilities serve as a significant advantage, enabling it to access remote and otherwise unreachable areas. This facet is poised to make a substantial contribution to CRPF’s operations within the confines of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The integration of this vehicle not only enhances the CRPF’s operational potential but also reinforces its ability to effectively address challenges within the complex region.

Gyanendra Kumar Verma, Inspector General of the Operations Sector in Kashmir for the Central Reserve Police Force, emphasized the agency’s commitment to augmenting operational efficiency over time. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to equip their personnel with cutting-edge tools and resources, designed to facilitate their duties effectively. The incorporation of the WHAP vehicle aligns with this ethos, underscoring the agency’s dedication to providing its personnel with the best possible resources to fulfil their responsibilities.
