ISLAMABAD: A robber was shot dead by his accomplices in the federal capital here on Thursday, said the police.
Police and robbers exchanged fire during a robbery attempt in Shams Colony, Islamabad. The details made available by police stated that the Afghan robber was shot down by his own accomplices, fearing capture by law-enforcement officials.
Answering a query, the police official stated that bullet-proof vest saved one of the officials who received a bullet while others narrowly escaped a barrage of bullets from Afghan robbers.
The robbers are believed to be associated with a group involved in carrying out robberies in the federal capital besides other heinous crime, said the official. Stolen motorcycle and firearms were also recovered. However, the identity of the robber couldn’t be ascertained.
