ISLAMABAD: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Human Rights and Women’s Empowerment on Saturday voiced concerns regarding India’s illegal actions in Indian Illegally-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In an interview with the ‘PTV News’, she emphasized that the Kashmiri people have not been silenced despite enduring decades of oppression by occupying forces. She pointed out the use of oppressive laws in IIOJK to stifle the voices of Kashmiri youth and journalists.

She alleges that India is attempting to alter the region’s demographic makeup by resettling non-Kashmiri individuals in the area and employing various harsh tactics to suppress the voices of Kashmiris.

Furthermore, Mushaal Mullick called on the international community to hold New Delhi accountable for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in the occupied territory.

She urged the immediate release of all political prisoners and the granting of autonomy to the Kashmiri people so they could determine their fate.

She also appealed to the United Nations (UN), Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and international human rights organizations to take notice of human rights violations by India in Kashmir and take prompt and concrete actions to halt what she called Indian state-sponsored terrorism. —APP
