NEW YORK: X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk and formerly known as Twitter, has unveiled a new feature that enables users to conceal the count of likes on their posts, enhancing user privacy.

This feature is exclusively available to users of X Premium, a voluntary paid subscription offering several benefits, including a distinctive blue checkmark for their accounts and early access to select features, such as the ability to edit posts.

X Premium subscription is now open for users to join, with localized pricing starting at $8 per month or $84 per year in eligible countries, granting them not only the blue checkmark but also exclusive access to features in advance.

The primary objective of this feature is to bolster user privacy. Once enabled, the number of likes on a post will be hidden from view, ensuring that other users cannot see the count.

How to Activate the Feature:

  • To utilize this feature, users should follow these steps:
  • Visit their profile on X.
  • Click on the three dots located in the upper right corner.
  • Access the “Settings and Privacy” section.
  • Find the “Hide Likes” tab within the “Privacy and Safety” option.
  • Users can then enable or disable the feature as per their preferences.

This latest addition to X’s feature lineup reflects a commitment to enhancing the privacy and customization options available to its user base. It empowers individuals to control their social media experience, allowing them to decide whether or not they want their likes to be publicly visible on their posts.
