BORDEAUX, France: Following the diplomatic discussions in Paris, King Charles III of Britain is embarking on a journey southward to Bordeaux on Friday, where he intends to direct his attention toward a deeply personal passion: environmental conservation.
During his visit, Charles will engage with emergency responders and communities that were impacted by the devastating wildfires that swept through the Bordeaux region last year. Additionally, he will visit an experimental forest meticulously designed to monitor the influence of climate change on urban woodlands.
Accompanied by Queen Camilla, the royal couple has an itinerary that includes a visit to a renowned vineyard acclaimed for its sustainable wine-making practices. The Bordeaux region, heavily reliant on wine exports, faced significant challenges due to a severe drought last year, resulting in its earliest-ever harvest. However, the region has been steadfast in its efforts to adapt and combat the effects of climate change on its viticulture industry.
