ISLAMABAD: A calligraphy exhibition was organized in Islamabad on Monday to showcase different art pieces of Islamic calligraphy.
The exhibition titled as, “Swallu Alaihee Wa Aalihee” showcased the Islamic calligraphy art of Wasil Shahid, a renowned calligrapher who has received several awards in the field of calligraphy.
The exhibition presented 24 art pieces created with gold foil in different categories such as Khat i Suls, Nastagleeq, and Kufi Khat.
The unique and beautiful art pieces demonstrate the calligrapher’s deep love and admiration for the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Minister Inaugurates Exhibition
The event was inaugurated by the Caretaker Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Aneeq Ahmed.
He appreciated the work of the calligrapher, saying Wasil has created high-quality art pieces. The art of calligraphy is a God-given gift and it is a sacred way to connect with Allah Almighty.
The minister said that there are many ways to connect with Allah Almighty and the Islamic calligraphy is one among them. Writing the verses of the Holy Quran is a way to express love for God.
