MOSCOW: Tensions escalated in the Israel-Hamas conflict as the Russia expressed deep concern over the increasing risk of a third party entering the fray. The alarm was raised following the United States’ decision to move warships closer to its ally Israel in response to the recent surprise attacks by the Palestinian Resistance group Hamas.

US President Joe Biden announced this show of support on Sunday, emphasizing solidarity with Israel by dispatching additional aid after the surprise attack by Hamas group. The move, while intended to bolster Israel’s defenses, has raised fears of further deteriorating the situation.

Russia Calls for Diplomatic Efforts to De-escalate

“The risk of third forces becoming involved in this conflict is high,” warned Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, as quoted by the TASS news agency. “It is very important to find ways as soon as possible to move towards some kind of negotiation process in order to reduce this escalation and move away from a military solution,” he stressed.

The prospect of a third party entering the conflict has intensified diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation. International leaders are urging restraint and calling for an immediate resumption of peace talks to prevent the crisis from spiraling further out of control.
