Chinese Ambassador Meets Pakistani Prime Minister, Discuss Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD: China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, called on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in Islamabad on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the premier emphasized the exceptional bond between Pakistan and China, describing them as All-weather Strategic Cooperative Partners, Iron Brothers, and trusted allies. He commended President Xi Jinping’s vision and leadership, notably highlighting the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). 

The Prime Minister also underscored the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in bolstering economic, trade, and technological cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing its role as the flagship project of the BRI. He assured that Pakistan and China were fully dedicated to ensuring the success of CPEC, and the government would maintain close collaboration with Chinese authorities to guarantee the timely execution and completion of various CPEC projects.

China, Pakistan Prioritizes Enhancing Bilateral Ties

This marked Ambassador Jiang’s initial meeting with the Prime Minister following his appointment as China’s Ambassador to Pakistan. The Prime Minister extended his congratulations to Ambassador Jiang on assuming his ambassadorial role in Islamabad and expressed optimism that he would play a pivotal part in further enhancing bilateral relations between Beijing and Islamabad.
