ISTANBUL: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has said that Turkish will declare 3-day mourning over Israeli barbaric airstrike on a hospital in Gaza, local media reported on Wednesday.

President Erdogan has strongly criticized Israel of “striking a hospital sheltering children, women, and innocent civilians” and asked the world to halt the tragedy in Gaza.

In a statement via social media, President Erdogan said, “Out of respect for the thousands of martyrs, most of whom are children and innocent civilians, 3-day of mourning have been declared in our country”. He added that Turkey feels in their hearts the deep pain felt by their Palestinian brothers.

Earlier, President Tuesday strongly criticized Israel over its ruthless airstrikes targeting a hospital in the unlawfully blockaded Gaza Strip, Turkish media reported. In a statement via social media President Erdogan said that targeting a hospital where there are children, women, and innocent people is the latest example of Israel’s assaults devoid of basic human values.  Erdogan said, “I call on entire humanity to take measures to prevent Israel’s unprecedented brutality in Gaza”.
