PTI Blocks Islamabad’s Motorway and Airport Roads

ISLAMABAD: Workers of PTI have blocked the Islamabad Motorway and Islamabad International Airport Road from various sections and also blocked almost all the entry and exit points of the federal capital. Due to the ongoing protests by PTI workers and supporters against the failed assassination of former premier and PTI Chief Imran Khan, the road leading to the Islamabad international airport is blocked including Motorway Chowk which is the main point of entrance and exit to the M2 motorway connecting Islamabad.

Islamabad Motorway is also blocked from Thalian section by the protesters. Protesters seized the roads by burning the tires and gatherings. The entrance points of Islamabad from Airport Chowk, Muree Road, Faizabad, IJP Road, and Saddar Rawalpindi are also closed by the protesters. Bakery Chowk and Khanna Pull areas of Rawalpindi City linking with Islamabad are also blocked by the protesters.

Protesters also seized the Taxila M2 Motorway from Islamabad toll plaza and Taxila Motorway is blocked from both sides. In Taxila Motorway, the traffic going to Peshawar and Lahore is- blocked due to seizure of M2 Motorway. The entrance of Islamabad from Lahore and Peshawar Motorway is also blocked by the protesters.

Federal government in Islamabad has decided to open immediately the Islamabad International Airport Road and Motorway under articles 3 and 4 of the constitution and to tackle the situation, the contingents of Islamabad Police, Rangers and Frontier Constabulary have been sent at the conflicting areas.

In a continue series of PTI protests after the failed assassination attempt on former prime minister Khan, in Wazirabad City during his long-march leading towards Islamabad, against the current coalition government ruling in Federation, as Khan alleged a foreign conspire and imported.

The PTI Workers earlier today morning blocked the Rawalpindi’s main Muree Road, the interjection of twin cities Faizabad and Shamsaabad in Rawalpindi by burning tires and demonstrating in the shape of gatherings. In Shamsabad, the protesters are demonstrating from several hours today.

Faizabad and Muree Road are facing blockage from the last two to three days in which the daily protests and road blockages are staged by the PTI workers.
