ANF Recovers 397 Kgs of Drugs in Six Operations

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out six operations across the country and managed to recover 397 kilograms of drugs and arrested 10 accused, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman on Wednesday.

He informed that four suspects including two women, residents of Charsadda and Peshawar, were apprehended near M-1 Motorway Islamabad. The ANF confiscated 1.2 kilograms of heroin and 1.5 kilograms of Ice drugs from their possession.

A significant quantity of drugs was recovered from secret compartments of the vehicle near Motorway Toll Plaza in Sheikhupura. Over 20.4 kilograms of opium and 3.6 kilograms of hashish were recovered from the possession of the accused, a resident of Lower Dir.

900 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of an individual from North Waziristan at Sialkot Airport, who was departing for Dubai on flight number FZ-332.

During the operation in the Winder area, a substantial amount of hashish was recovered from a truck loaded with apples. 360 kg hashish concealed under apple crates was recovered. Two accused individuals of Pishin, who were attempting to smuggle hashish to Karachi, were apprehended during the operation.

In the sixth operation, over 9 kilograms of hashish hidden for smuggling was recovered from an uninhabited area of Zakhakhel in Khyber.

Cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been registered against all the accused, and further investigations are ongoing. —APP
