BEIRUT: In a significant development, Deputy Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, has issued a stern warning concerning the ongoing tensions in the Gaza region. He emphasized that if the “Zionist entity” (Israel) and the United States of America persist in their aggressive actions against Gaza, the situation could escalate into a comprehensive confrontation.

On Tuesday, Sheikh Qassim was quoted by the al-Ahed News Agency, where he outlined Hezbollah’s involvement in efforts to alleviate the mounting pressure on Gaza. He stated, “Hezbollah’s participation is aimed at relieving the pressure on Gaza and finding a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.”

Furthermore, Sheikh Qassim emphasized that the recent surge in Hezbollah’s activities serves as a clear message to Israel. He warned that any expansion of Israeli actions in the region would lead to dire consequences, highlighting the organization’s commitment to defending the interests of Gaza.

The border region between Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories, referred to as the “Zionist enemy entity,” has experienced a surge in tension. There have been intermittent exchanges of fire and missiles between the enemy army and Hezbollah since the commencement of the confrontation between Hamas and the Israeli entity in early October.

This situation underscores the delicate balance in the region and the potential for further escalation. The role of Hezbollah in addressing the Gaza conflict adds a layer of complexity to the ongoing dynamics in the Middle East, as both sides navigate the path toward peaceful resolution and the avoidance of a comprehensive confrontation.
