PAF Pays Tribute to Allama Iqbal on His 146th Birth Anniversary

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) released a video on Thursday based on the famous poetic verses of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal to pay tribute to the ‘Poet of East’ on 146th birth anniversary, a PAF statement said.

According to the statement the short documentary features Shaheen (Eagle), the main character of Iqbal’s poetry, with his verses focused on dignity, self-reliance, resilience and purity of soul.

It said Iqbal’s poetry had a depth of thought and reflection and the creation of Pakistan had been accomplished due to his wisdom.

It added that by terming the youth ‘Shaheen’, Iqbal in fact wanted to teach them the passion for action, boldness, wide vision, and curiosity to achieve sublimity, which were the characteristics of the bird.

The PAF, in the documentary, reiterated the pledge that its every Shaheen is ever ready to render any sacrifice for defense of the motherland.

Pakistan Observes 146th Birth Anniversary of Allama Iqbal

The 146th birth anniversary of Pakistan’s national poet, Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, is being celebrated across the nation with great enthusiasm.

Dr. Iqbal, often referred to as the “Poet of the East,” was born on November 9, 1877, in Sialkot. His profound poetry and visionary political insight played a pivotal role in awakening the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent.
