LAHORE: An accountability court in Lahore Monday declared PTI’s Moonis Elahi a proclaimed offender in a corruption case and also sought record of his properties.

Judge Naseem Ahmed Virk issued the order on a request by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a case related to receiving kickbacks in development projects. NAB had told the court that Moonis Elahi had not been arrested or agreed to join an investigation despite repeated calls.

The court also sought record of Moonis Elahi’s properties before initiating the process to seize them. Moonis is son of former Punjab Chief Minister and President PTI Ch. Pervaiz Elahi who is also facing a number of corruption cases. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader had left Pakistan in December 2022 and has not returned since.
