ISLAMABAD: The unrelenting military and police siege imposed by the Narendra Modi-led Hindutva Indian government on August 05, 2019, continues to inflict severe hardships on the daily lives of the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

A recent report from the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service highlights that the entire occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been transformed into an open prison, with the special status illegally revoked, stripping away the identity, properties, and government services of Kashmiris.

The toll on the Kashmiri population has been staggering, with Indian troops martyring 845 Kashmiris, including 17 women, since the revocation of special status. The report further exposes the harsh reality of cordon and search operations, revealing that troops damaged over 1115 houses and subjected 129 women to molestation and disgrace during house raids across the occupied territory.

The crackdown has not spared political figures, activists, journalists, and human rights defenders. Prominent figures such as APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, and others continue to languish in jails across occupied Kashmir and India.

The report underscores a disturbing trend of genocide against Kashmiri youth, particularly intensified after August 05, 2019. India’s brutal actions in the occupied territory present a significant challenge to the international community, raising concerns about human rights violations and the ongoing suffering of the Kashmiri people.

Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating situation, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) calls for the implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir. The demand aims to bring an end to the cycle of death and destruction in the occupied territory and restore the rights and dignity of the Kashmiri people.
