ATHENS: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made a strong accusation against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asserting that Netanyahu is committing genocide of innocent Palestinians in Gaza as a desperate attempt to extend his political career.

Erdogan’s remarks were delivered during a statement to journalists accompanying him on a state visit to Greece.

Erdogan stated, “The reality is that Netanyahu is committing this genocide to prolong his political life and avoid prosecution.” He highlighted the judicial process involving Netanyahu, mentioning the rumors of potential convictions against him.

Erdogan Criticizes Netanyahu’s Actions

According to Erdogan, the outbreak of Israel’s attack on Gaza coincided with Netanyahu’s precarious legal situation.

“Now he is prolonging this process with the thought that ‘the longer these attacks go on, the more I can save myself from being tried,'” Erdogan remarked, suggesting that the ongoing military actions in Gaza serve as a diversion to forestall legal consequences.

Erdogan has been an outspoken critic of Israel’s actions, particularly in relation to the Palestinian territories.
