LONDON: Palestinian journalist Yara Eid has shared footage from her life to remind the international community that there was a Gaza before Israel declared war on the strip, “before the genocide started”.
She shared the video via her social media account and said that most of the people in the video were killed or wounded.
She said that Gaza was full of life before and despite everything they were living through under occupation. She added that they never stopped dreaming, and never stopped smiling, and most importantly they never stopped living. She said that there is no place in the world like her home, nothing is like Gaza. She said, “I miss my home. I miss my beautiful home. I miss my family. I miss my friends.”

She maintained Gaza is full of love, laughter and dreams despite seventeen years of blockade and constant Israeli aggressions. She said that all of these videos were taken before the genocide started in the Gaza Strip and some of the people in the video have been killed. She further said that most of the places in the video have been completely destroyed by Israeli brutal attacks. She said, “My beautiful precious world is totally destroyed.”
In two months of war, Israel has killed over 17,000 people mostly women and children and wounded 46,000 and forced the displacement of about 1.9 million Palestinians, over half of them now staying in areas in central Gaza.
