LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has rejected the judgment of the Indian Supreme Court, which supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2019 decision to revoke Article 370, depriving Occupied Jammu and Kashmir of its special status.

Former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, also the PML-N president, on Monday, expressed in a statement and on X (formerly Twitter) that the Indian top court’s decision, similar to the actions on August 5, 2019, had no credibility and was contrary to UN resolutions.

Shehbaz emphasized that the claim of Kashmir being an integral part of India would not become a reality merely due to the assertions of the Indian Supreme Court, stating that the Indian judiciary often acted like a BJP worker and had previously displayed an unlawful approach in the Babri Mosque issue.

The PML-N president assured that the party, under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, would vocally support the Kashmiri people at all forums, standing in solidarity with them in their struggle.

Indian Supreme Court Verdict Against UN Resolutions

Likewise, Maryam Nawaz, PML-N’s vice-president and chief organizer, in a separate statement, labeled Monday’s verdict as another falsehood perpetuated by India.

“The Kashmiri people, Pakistan, and the world reject India’s deceit,” she said, condemning the Indian Supreme Court for committing what she deemed a criminal act that would be remembered as a dark chapter.

Maryam affirmed that Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) rightfully belonged to the Kashmiris, regardless of India’s deceptive tactics. She asserted that all of India’s attempts to subjugate the Kashmiris had failed and stressed that UN Security Council resolutions and international law were applicable to the Kashmir dispute.
