ISLAMABAD: Mashaal Hussain Malik, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Human Rights and Women’s Empowerment, emphasized the need for the international community, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and human rights organizations, to address concerning “demographic changes” in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

During an interview with a private news channel, she called to stop any further illegal activities by the Indian government in the occupied territory. Malik expressed concern over India altering the population ratio in the IIOJK, asserting that Kashmiris were being deprived of their land, leading to financial vulnerabilities.

Malik highlighted India’s issuance of millions of domiciles to Indians in the Kashmir valley as a means to occupy Kashmiri lands. She warned that India’s actions could result in the significant displacement of Kashmiris from their homes, characterizing it as a potential colossal robbery of the century.

Furthermore, Malik argued that India’s hegemonic policies posed severe threats to South Asia, attributing negative tactics to India’s political motivations ahead of upcoming elections.

She stressed the urgency for the international community to refrain from appeasing India and to address its fundamentalism and extremism, emphasizing the potential global repercussions on peace and stability.

Malik urged the international community to contain India’s actions and prevent further destabilization proactively. She added that to stop India from sponsoring state-sponsored terrorism, especially in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan continues to expose India at international forums. —APP
