ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced to extend the registration deadline for the convocation till 5 January.
The decision has been taken after receiving requests and insistence from the students. Graduates from Semester Autumn 2004 to the Semester Spring 2022 are eligible for convocation.
The graduates with 75 percent marks in B.Ed. programs, at least 70 percent marks in all other degree programs, and all MPhil and PhD graduates can register themselves on http://convocation.aiou.edu.pk before January 5, 2024.

AIOU Convocation 2024 would be held on 31 January 2024, at the Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad.
President Dr. Arif Alvi, who is also the Chancellor of the University, would be the chief guest at the convocation ceremony.
The event will be hosted by the AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood.
Federal ministers, secretaries, HEC senior officials, vice chancellors of various universities, rectors, eminent social personalities, renowned journalists, deans, professors, principal officers, faculty members, and students of AIOU would participate in the event.
AIOU administration completes preparations
The AIOU administration has completed preparations for the convocation ceremonies. The convocations will take place in Muzaffarabad and all the provincial capitals, including Lahore, Quetta, Karachi, and Peshawar.
On 31 January 2024, students from Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), and Rawalpindi Division (Attock, Jhelum, Chaklala, and Rawalpindi) will participate in the convocation ceremony at Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad.
The convocation for the Karachi chapter is scheduled for 3 March 2024, while Lahore’s convocation will be organized on 28 March.
Quetta to host its ceremony on 19 May, and the convocations for the Peshawar and Muzaffarabad chapters are scheduled for 9 June and 30 June 2024, respectively. PhD graduates are required to register in Islamabad only.
The MPhil programs’ students will be awarded gold medals and degrees at the convocations organized in their respective cities.
