JEDDAH: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has endorsed the United Nations roadmap to bolster the peace process in Yemen.
In a statement, the General Secretariat of the OIC welcomed the statement released by the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, regarding reaching a roadmap to support the durable peace path in Yemen.
The General Secretariat reaffirmed the OIC’s unwavering support for Yemen and its people, emphasizing its commitment to encouraging Yemeni parties to engage in constructive dialogue.
The aim is to achieve a comprehensive and enduring political resolution under the auspices of the United Nations, ending the plight of the Yemeni people.
The OIC envisions this solution enabling Yemenis to focus their efforts on establishing security and stability while advancing comprehensive and sustainable development, thereby realizing the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
