GAZA: Shelling and missile strikes intensified across the Gaza Strip, persisting through the night, as Israel’s military declared its intention to continue the conflict with Hamas into 2024. The ongoing conflict, spanning nearly three months, has resulted in a devastating toll on Gaza, claiming approximately 22,000 lives. Gazans believe that 2024 will be different.

A Gazan complained as the world celebrate New Year why cant we celebrate doesn’t the world see that we are dying. We are bombarded and massacred  each and my wish for the year is cease fire.

Another Gazan woman hoped for a good year for the muslim and hoped the siege will end. The Israel bombardment has resulted in nearly 22000 losing their lives with two third women and chidren.

Despite widespread international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli military spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, stated on Monday that preparations were underway for “prolonged fighting” anticipated to endure “throughout this year.”

Overnight, reports indicated missile launches targeting the city of Rafah in the south and shelling near the Jabalia refugee camp in the north. Fighting also erupted in central areas, including Maghazi and Bureij, along with clashes around the southern city of Khan Yunis.

Gaza residents, described the year 2023 as “the worst of our lives,” emphasizing the repetitive cycle of bombings, loss of life, and widespread destruction.

The situation remains dire as both sides show no signs of easing tensions, and the international community faces the challenge of finding a diplomatic resolution to bring about peace in the region.
