HEC Sets Jan 3 as Last Date to Apply for Centralised Test

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has set January 3 (Wednesday) as the deadline for applications for the Centralized Test, offering graduates of Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) the opportunity to secure apprenticeships at leading IT companies in Pakistan.

Conducted in collaboration with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Ministry of IT & Telecom (MoITT), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA), and National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), the test aims to connect talented IT graduates with practical industry experience.

The Centralized Test targets students in the 7th semester of CS and related disciplines, utilizing the Virtual University Platform for its administration. The test, scheduled for January 7, focuses on key areas including Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Data Structures, Networking, Programming, Databases, and Problem Solving/Analytics.

To be eligible for the test, students must be currently enrolled in the 7th semester of BS/BE Computing or related disciplines. The registration deadline is January 3, and the application submission can be done through the designated portal.

This initiative, part of an academia-industry cooperation program, aims to equip IT students with hands-on experience in the latest technologies, enhancing their job prospects both locally and internationally. HEC emphasizes the significance of not missing this opportunity to secure an apprenticeship at the forefront of Pakistan’s IT industry.
