TOKYO: Japanese rescuers and emergency workers race against the time to find the survivors of a New Year’s Day quake that killed dozens of people and caused widespread destruction in the county. The 7.5 magnitude earthquake that rattled the main island of Honshu triggered tsunami waves over a metre high, caused a major fire and slashed apart roads. A video by AFP.
