OIC, UMT Lahore Sign MoU to Promote Education and Research Initiatives

JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the University of Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, formally inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah.

The signing ceremony was attended by Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the OIC, and Mohammed Fawad Sher, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the OIC.

The MoU, signed by Ambassador Askar Mussinov, Assistant Secretary-General for Science and Technology Affairs, on behalf of OIC, and Vice Marshal (Rtd) Dr. Asif Raza, Rector of UMT, outlines the provision of scholarships by UMT to students from OIC Member States.

Moreover, it establishes a comprehensive framework for long-term collaboration, encompassing student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, conferences, and publications with universities across OIC Member States.

This collaboration aims to foster a sustained and impactful partnership between UMT and the OIC General Secretariat.

The partnership is designed to strengthen ties between the OIC and UMT, laying the foundation for innovative initiatives that contribute to the advancement of education and cultural understanding among OIC Member States on the international stage.
