ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and PTI Supremo Imran Khan said on Friday that PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif would never appoint an army chief on merit as he has previously struck deals with the military commander. He alleged that the ruling party leaders violated merit in the appointment of the army chiefs to cover their corruption cases.

Addressing the participants of Long March via video link on Friday evening Imran Khan said that the only option to get rid of the ongoing political turmoil is to announce fresh and fair elections.
