PESHAWAR: The provincial meteorological office predicted a fresh spell of rain with snowfall in the mountains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Monday to Friday.
According to a statement received here from the Met Office on Monday, there would be intermittent and heavy rains in the plain area along with snowfall in the hilly areas of the province that would continue till next Friday. According to the fresh rainy wave, there would be a drop in temperature in most parts of the province.
PDMA Issues Alert during Rain, Snowfall
Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued directions to all the concerned district administrations to take precautionary measures to deal with any untoward situation.
PDMA also issued an advisory for the public to remain at a distance from electricity wires, dilapidated structures, signboards, and billboards during fast winds and heavy rain. Tourists were also advised to avoid unnecessary traveling and remain alert during any necessary traveling.
Meanwhile, after an interval of a couple of days, snowfall restarted in North and South Waziristan last night in the areas including Shawal, Makeen, Kaniguram, Karwan Manza, Parighal, and nearby areas.
Due to the fresh wave, further snowfall in Lowari Tunnel, Kumrat, Kalam, and other northern areas is expected from Monday to Friday.
