ISLAMABAD: Manchester United on Tuesday released a statement on Tuesday stating that star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave the club with immediate effect.
The notice said Ronaldo and the club said the decision was made in mutual agreement.
It appreciated Ronaldo’s two spells at Manchester United, showing gratitude to his contributions while scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances.
The statement added, that the team itself was focused on playing under the direction Erik ten Haq such that they could succeed on the pitch.
Ronaldo said that after being in agreement both he and Manchester United decided to end the contract before its expiry. He added that although he loved both the fans and the club it was he to him to look for a new and fresh challenge.
Furthermore, he said that it was his wish that for the rest of the season and afterward that the team keep succeeding.

It should be reminded that according to reports in the previous week, the club’s lawyers were looking for the best legal way to terminate Ronaldo’s time at the club to an end. This development came after Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV.
Ronaldo had alleged betrayal by the club by bidding to force him to end his time at the club.
