Coalition Parties’ Leadership Express Confidence on PM to Make Constitutional Appointments

ISLAMABAD: The leaders of coalition parties in the federal government on Wednesday expressed full confidence and trust on prime minister Shahbaz Sharif to make key constitutional appointments as it was his prerogative. 

A meeting in the PM house was held on one-point agenda of constitutional appointments. The leaders of all the coalition parties mandated the premier Shehbaz Sharif to take decision on the appointments, a press release issued by the PM House said.

The leaders assured the prime minister their full support on the matter. 

On the occasion, Co-chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former president Asif Ali Zardari, said that being a prime minister, it was the constitutional prerogative of Shehbaz Sharif to freely take decisions.  

The Prime Minister Sharif thanked the coalition parties’ leaders for their support and holding a consultation.

He also expressed his gratitude to the senior leadership for reposing confidence in him.

It is to be mentioned here that the appointments of new Chief of Army Staff and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) is the talk of the town these days as both the incumbent top officials General Qamar Javed Bajwa and General Nadeem Raza are set to retire in the last week of the month.
