President Asif Ali Zardari Receives Guard of Honour at Aiwan-e-Sadr

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the presidential residence, in Islamabad.

This prestigious event took place a day after President Zardari was officially sworn in as the 14th President of Pakistan.

Arriving at the forecourt of the presidency in a traditional horse-driven buggy, President Zardari was greeted with the national anthem, marking the commencement of the guard of honour ceremony.

Distinguished contingents of the armed forces, impeccably attired and in formation, presented the guard of honour to the President.

President Zardari, accompanied by senior officials, meticulously inspected the parade, acknowledging the display of military discipline and excellence. Subsequently, the President expressed his appreciation by personally shaking hands with the officers and staff members of the Aiwan-e-Sadr, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unity.

The solemn oath-taking ceremony on Sunday, administered by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, formalized President Zardari’s assumption of office.

This significant event marked the culmination of a democratic process, symbolizing the peaceful transition of power in Pakistan’s political landscape. President Zardari’s commitment to upholding the constitution and serving the nation was reaffirmed as he embarked on his presidential tenure.
