Pakistan President Summons NA Session on April 1

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned the National Assembly session on April 1. According to a statement issued by the spokesperson of the National Assembly, the president convened the assembly session using powers conferred on him under Article 54 (1) of the Constitution of Pakistan. President has summoned the assembly session in Parliament House on April 1 at 4 pm. It will be the 2nd session of the present 16th National Assembly of Pakistan.

Earlier on Friday, local media reported that a scheduled session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was not held because of the absence of government members.

Opposition parties’ members, including women legislators, staged protest outside the assembly hall and also chanted slogans against the government. It may be recalled that the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor had convened the session of the house on March 22.
