Pakistan Prime Minister Hosts Iftar Dinner for Diplomatic Corps

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for global peace and stability during an Iftar dinner hosted for members of the diplomatic corps at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of its people. The prime minister said that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation and desires peaceful relations with all countries.

He highlighted the constitutional guarantee of equal rights for all citizens in Pakistan, regardless of any distinctions, and mentioned various policies enacted to ensure religious freedom and rights.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif outlined the government’s priorities, focusing on progress, prosperity, and development after peaceful general elections.

He expressed the government’s commitment to economic reforms, attracting foreign investment, and fostering global partnerships for shared development.

Regarding global affairs, the prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s firm support for Palestinians’ right to self-determination and emphasized the need for implementing a UN Security Council resolution for an immediate ceasefire.

He underlined the significance of the holy month of Ramazan, highlighting its message of sacrifice, compassion, peace, and tolerance, which are essential in today’s world facing diverse challenges.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also spoke on the occasion, emphasizing the significance of Ramazan in promoting reflection, compassion, and unity among diverse cultures.

He reiterated Pakistan’s stance for peace, equality, and justice, supporting multilateral efforts for peace and prosperity.

The foreign minister called for immediate implementation of the UNSC resolution for ceasefire and emphasized the importance of resolving regional disputes, including Kashmir and Palestine.

Both leaders stressed the collective efforts needed to combat terrorism and build a peaceful world order.

Pakistan’s commitment to international peace and prosperity, as seen during its term as a non-permanent member of the UNSC, was also highlighted.
