TOKYO: The Japan Meteorological Agency reported on Tuesday that a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck the northern prefectures of Iwate and Aomori in Japan.
The earthquake’s epicenter was identified in the northern coastal area of Iwate Prefecture. Despite the significant magnitude, authorities confirmed that no tsunami warning was issued in response to the seismic activity.
Immediate reports following the earthqsuake indicated no visible damage or casualties so far.
