DERBY: After facing defeat by 0-3, Pakistan women are all set to have a comeback in the three matches ODI series as the Green Shirt will face England women in the first match tomorrow at the County Ground in Derby.
The series, which is part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25, would be Pakistan’s eighth and final series in the cycle. In the 10-team Women’s Championship, Pakistan is currently positioned in the fifth spot with 16 points on the table. The top five teams from this championship, along with host India, would directly qualify for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup to be held in 2025.
Pakistan’s leading scorer Sidra Amin (948 runs at an average of 52.66) in the ICC Championship 2022-25 is still hopeful about the team’s comeback and said “Despite the recent T20I series not going our way, we are fully focused and eager to put on a good performance in the upcoming matches against England.
She further said that all players in the team were in high spirits and they would focus on playing better cricket and determined to end the ICC Women’s Championship matches on a positive note.
