ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Sweden held their 18th round of Bilateral Political Consultations, led by Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe) Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan for Pakistan and Ambassador Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt, Director General of the Global Department at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
During the consultations, both sides comprehensively reviewed their bilateral cooperation, encompassing political relations, trade and investment, education, and people-to-people exchanges. They expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Sweden relations and agreed to enhance cooperation, aiming for a robust economic partnership.
Sweden briefed Pakistan on initiatives to foster interfaith harmony domestically. Discussions also covered key regional and global developments, with mutual agreement to collaborate closely on shared interests in multilateral forums such as the UN and EU.
Ambassador Dag separately met with the Foreign Secretary to discuss further strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and Sweden, as both countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
