UAE, Syrian FMs Meet to Discuss Future Ties

ABU DHABI: The UAE’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, met with Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Faisal Mekdad, in Abu Dhabi, local media reported on Thursday.

According to Emirates News Agency, during a meeting, the two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations across various fields, including development, to serve the mutual interests of both countries.  Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the long-standing fraternal ties between Syria and the UAE, underscoring their mutual resolve to fostering cooperation.

The ministers exchanged views on regional and global developments, especially in the Middle East, stressing the significance of collective efforts in promoting sustainable stability and meeting the developmental aspirations of the region’s populations.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Al-Marar and UAE envoy to Syria Hassan Ahmed Al-Shehhi.
