Saudi Space Agency, NASA Bolster Space Partnership

RIYADH: The Saudi Space Agency has said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United States signed a strategic cooperation agreement focused on the exploration and peaceful utilization of outer space, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

According to the SPA, this agreement represents the culmination of the unwavering support and empowerment provided to the space sector by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and Chairman of the Supreme Space Council, and the diligent efforts made between the two sides to develop the strategic relationship between the two nations.

The SPA reported, the agreement aims to enhance their cooperation in the sector of space and scientific exploration, increase joint investment in several commercial activities, and set up a comprehensive legal framework that facilitates cooperation between them for the exchange of expertise and the development of joint programs. The agreement also outlines areas of joint work between the two sides, which include space and earth sciences, space missions, aeronautics, education, and many other areas of mutual interest.
