LAHORE: Pakistan captain Babar Azam, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi are unlikely to get a no-objection certificate (NOC) to take part in the upcoming league Global T20 Canada, a local TV claimed.
According to the private TV channel, they will not get a NOC despite the Canadian league not clashing with any series. As per media reports, the league will be held from July 25 to August 11. It reported that all-format players will not be issued the NOC as per the policy. It maintained that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not in favour of NOC for the league because of its busy international schedule.
Shaheen, Babar, Rizwan ‘Unlikely’ to Get NOC for Canadian League
The development takes place following the cricket board decided not to grant Naseem Shah the NOC to play The Hundred cricket league due to being an all-format cricketer. However, the Global T20 Canada has not yet obtained an approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC) because of several issues, the sources maintained. The reports further said that the NOC of the players will be officially decided only following the league gets an approval.
