Saudi Arabia Welcomes Statement on Agreement Between Yemeni Parties

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the statement by the Office of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg, regarding the agreement between the Yemeni government and Ansar Allah Houthis on several measures to de-escalate tensions in the banking sector and Yemenia Airways, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

The Kingdom expressed its support for the efforts to achieve security and peace for Yemenis. Saudi Arabia reiterated its continued support for Yemen’s government and people and emphasized its commitment to encouraging efforts to de-escalate the situation and maintain peace.

The Kingdom also voiced hope that this agreement will lead to Yemeni parties present at the dialogue under the auspices of the Office of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen discussing humanitarian and economic issues, and ultimately reaching a comprehensive political solution to the crisis in Yemen within the framework of the roadmap that supports the peace process in the country.
